CDM Services

The Construction Design and Management Regulations 2007 (CDM) has the key aim of integrating health and safety into the management of the project and to encourage everyone involved to work together to ;

  • improve the planning and management of projects from the very start,
  • identify hazards early on so they can be eliminated or reduced at the design stage and the remaining risks properly managed,
  • target effort where it can do the most good in terms of health and safety and,
  • Discourage unnecessary bureaucracy.

Sitesafe UK Ltd offer a wide range of services which help those with responsibilities under the CDM regulations to achieve compliance and can be appointed to the role of CDM Coordinator.

Coordinator

  • Liaise with the client on the competence of designers and principal contractors on a project
  • Assess adequate arrangements are in place for managing projects
  • Compile a pre-information pack and raise F10 (notification to the HSE)
  • Coordinate design work, planning and other preparation where relevant to health and safety
  • Advise the client on any surveys which need to be carried out
  • Manage health and safety information between clients, designers and contractors
  • Advise the client on the suitability of an initial construction phase health and safety plan and the arrangements for ensuring that sufficient welfare facilities are on site.
  • Collate and compile information for the safety file for completion of a project for the client.

Assistance with the Principal Contractors role

  • Give advice to the Principal Contractor on documentation provided by the CDM Coordinator, designers and the requirements involved within a CDM project.
  • Assistance with the compilation of the initial construction phase health and safety plan
  • Assistance on the development of the construction phase plan
  • Health and safety advice to the Principal Contractor on foreseeable risks involved within the project
  • Advice on the security of a construction area and arrangements for welfare
  • Carry out specific risk assessments.
  • Assistance with suitability of contractors to be employed on a project
  • Advice on the adequacy of risk assessments and method statements supplied by contractors.
  • Site inspections
  • Attend health and safety meetings throughout the project
  • Carry out toolbox talks

Assistance with the compilation of safety file information for the CDM Coordinator.
