Fire Assessments Services
Fire safety is a complex subject which affects every one of us, both at work and in our homes. It is covered in detail by The Building Regulations and Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order, which tells us how a building must be constructed to prevent the spread of fire and smoke and what an employer must do to comply with his statutory fire safety duties.
The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 (FSO) came into effect in October 2006 and replaced over 70 pieces of fire safety law.
Our aim at Sitesafe is to provide our clients with the safety assistance needed to ensure that the ‘Responsible Person’ in their organizations can implement the preventative and protective measures required to stop fire or control its spread until safe evacuation of the premises can be assured.
Our safety team can give advice on The Building Regulations approved documents, The Fire Safety Order and relevant EN BS standards and have carried out Fire assessments on a wide range of buildings all over the UK.
We use specialist associates, with operational experience in the Fire and Rescue Service and other associated fields to compliment the range of services we provide our clients.
By conducting a fire risk assessment on your workplace, you will be working towards meeting your legal obligations imposed by the Order. Also, by identifying and taking remedial action against any significant findings you will reduce the risk of fire and therefore reduce the risk to your staff, visitors and business assets.
Sitesafe offer a range of eLearning courses which are aimed at those appointed with fire Regulation responsibilities. These allow delegates to complete foundation training programs for key subjects, at a time, pace and location that fits in with the individual or company’s requirement.
The Fire assessment identifies materials and substances in the area of assessment which are rapidly combustible or highly flammable and likely to increase the building fire rating.
In addition; structural features of the building are reviewed which could support combustion or fail to prevent its spread.
Once the initial stages of the assessment are recorded the advisor identifies those who could be at risk in the event of a fire and the suitability of your existing fire provisions.
The significant finding of the assessment are recorded and an action plan developed to rectify faults, upgrade existing systems or regularly review the findings of the assessment.
Fire Safety Training
Sitesafe UK Ltd provide fire safety courses for workers all over the UK. The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 has made fire safety training a legal requirement. The courses we provide can be delivered in-house or at our training centre.
Fire training for members of your staff should be relevant to their job role and as such our tailor made programs are ideal. An example would be staff members who are expected to tackle small fires with extinguisher equipment provided, in this instance our fire extinguisher training course would be ideal.
Many companies will need to appoint fire marshals to comply with the Order. These members of your staff will require additional training in order to perform their role effectively.
