Mobile Elevating Work Platforms

 

The instructors are IPAF registered and able to instruct an operator to prepare and operate scissor lift and self-propelled boom. (Courses for other mobile elevating work platforms are also available on request).

 

Course content

 

  • The candidate will have, a working knowledge of the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974 and other relevant regulations including the WAH 2005 Regulations. Be aware of risk assessment and how to implement this.
  • Will be aware of accident control and prevention.
  • The need for personal protective equipment.
  • How to drive and safely manoeuvre a machine as required to a correct position and carry out a nominated task.
  • The candidate will also be able to carry out a thorough pre-use inspection and defect reporting.
  • Be aware of and operate the auxiliary or manual decent procedure.

Tower Scaffolds

The Work at Height Regulations require that the erection, dismantling, and alteration of mobile access towers should be carried out by a competent person. PASMA is the most widely recognised form of tower training and recommended by Sitesafe UK Ltd to its clients.

 

The PASMA standard training courses are designed for any person involved in the use of Mobile Access Towers. Course content includes all of the relevant training and information pertaining to the safe erection, inspection and dismantling of Aluminium and Fibre glass Mobile Access Towers.

SCAFFOLD APPRECIATION & INSPECTIONS

 

This 1 day course is designed for those likely to be working on scaffolds, such as bricklayers and painters, but is an ideal introduction for any person working on or near scaffolds. It will provide them with the knowledge and skills required for working safely on and around such temporary structures.

Ladder Safety

Sitesafe have been running ladder training courses for many years and have updated courses to ensure delegates conform to the requirements of the Work at Height Regulations 2005.

 

Under the regulations every person in the chain leading up to, and including, the final user, has a duty of care to both themselves and others to know and understand the practical implications of working safely at height.

Safety Harnesses

 

A half day training program for anyone who uses, supervises or manages fall arrest harnesses, work restraint equipment or work positioning PPE and needs to be made aware of the correct selection, inspection and use of the safety harnesses to prevent or restrict falls.

 

Using our classroom-based theory and hands-on experience training method, your staff will develop an awareness of the legal and practical implications of preventing falls from height, learn to identify and select the correct form of safety harness and lanyard, for the job in hand and be able to inspect, maintain, monitor, fit and use them effectively.

Emergency rescue planning

 

Work at Height is the main cause of workplace fatalities, so it is important that all employers and duty holders ensure that the work is planned, supervised and carried out safely. An essential part of the planning process must also include arrangements for emergencies and rescue in the event of a fall. Rescue is the responsibility of the employer/building owner and NOT the emergency services.

 

Sitesafe can provide a comprehensive training package covering a wide range of rescue techniques, including fall protection, lowering, lifting and the use of safety lines for third parties.

 

This course is ideal for employers, managers, operatives and others with health and safety obligations such as building owners who have a duty of care to those working on their premises.
